The speed cubing aficionado was tapped to teach actor Will Smith how to solve the Rubik’s Cube for his role in the upcoming film “The Pursuit of Happyness.” The movie, out in theaters nationwide on December 15, 2006, is based on the life of Chris Gardner, a struggling salesman who overcomes great obstacles to become a multi-millionaire stockbroker. The Rubik’s Cube plays a role in the film, too. It’s a metaphor for perseverance and determination, keys to Gardner’s ultimate success.
