The Rubik's TouchCube[3][4] is an electronic, light-up, touchscreen[5] update of the 3×3×3 Cube. [6] Sliding a finger across its faces causes its patterns of colored lights to rotate the same way they would on a mechanical cube.[7] As with the original, the goal is to get all of the lights on each face to be the same color. It can scramble itself,[8] undo mistakes and provide hints,[9] or even show the user how to solve it,[10] one step at a time.[11] An internal accelerometer makes it recognize only the finger movements on the top face, so it can be handheld without causing accidental moves.[12] The TouchCube was introduced at the American International Toy Fair[13] in New York.[14] on February 15, 2009[15] The TouchCube is expected to become available in the Fall of 2009.[16]
