Hi all,
I am slow as molasses at getting things written, but I wanted to post a few comments. Most of the credit goes to Uwe Meffert for getting the Holey Megaminx puzzle out there. We have been about 6 months working on it. Geert Hellings introduced Uwe to me after DCD. Thanks Geert! Uwe wanted to try to manufacture it. I knew it was going to be a challenge when we started, as the mechanism is different than other puzzles out there, and was never designed with manufacturing in mind. It was inspired by Katsuhiko’s Void Cube but is a very different mechanism (I had never seen the Void cube mechanism at the time and came up with what I though it might be). My original core was not as strong, nor as easily assembled as we would have liked and Uwe’s people came up with an alternative, which worked well. Same shape, but more injection molding and assembly friendly. This required new molds. Making molds is both expensive and time consuming. Then the turning was too tight and then too loose. Uwe throughout the process was awesome. He had great communication, always kept me in the loop, and remained optimistic. I have a better appreciation for what it takes to get something new manufactured now. I hope you understand why people try to keep these things secret until the bugs get worked out, in case things do not work out. I hope everyone enjoys the puzzle!
We all owe Uwe a debt of gratitude for taking on the risks and making all these new puzzles affordable and available both for modding and playing with. (I wonder how long it will be before Tony makes a sphere out of it?). I hope you enjoy it and look forward to finding out what else Uwe has been working on, like every one else.

很有可能是 Meffert 持有吧 希望更多的MOD作品生产。。。 我觉得谁持有专利并不重要，我们记得每一位设计出新奇魔方结构的作者就是了。就像Rubik拥有3阶的专利，咱们不是一样购买各个品牌的3阶魔方么？但是Rubik的名字永远在魔方领域是一个不可撼动的位置。 期待国产:lol :handshake
